Update 15.10 puts the strangest fight first

World of Warships Update 15.10 is live on PC with Horror From the Abyss, a temporary PvE event built around seven-player Operations against bots, and that is the clearest place for returning captains to start. MMOHuts reports that the event runs from November 4 at 1:00 AM PT through December 16 at 1:00 AM PT, while Wargaming's November press release describes it as the headline PC addition running until December 16.

The tension in this World of Warships November update is that its biggest attraction is both limited-time and mechanically separated from normal naval routines. Wargaming says players are investigating unusual events and a mysterious cult, with teams of seven entering Operation-based missions across the next two updates. The setup moves World of Warships into cosmic horror territory without turning it into a different game: the confirmed structure is still co-op mission play, objective completion, ship upgrades, and event rewards, but the pressure comes from hostile bots, shifting map conditions, and a custom rental ship built for the event.

For players who have been away, Update 15.10 is unusually dense. Alongside the World of Warships cosmic horror event, the patch opens Early Access for the first European cruiser line, starts a Black Friday Event Pass, adds interface changes, brings in Polish submarine Orzeł through Armory bundles, and sets up the Salvage for Victory event for German super destroyer Z-57. That creates a practical problem before the first shell is fired: there are multiple clocks running at once, and some of the most interesting content is tied to event progression rather than the permanent Tech Tree.

Horror From the Abyss is a PvE event with rotating pressure

Horror From the Abyss sends players into the Bermuda Triangle and the Grim Islands across four Operations. According to MMOHuts, the scenarios share a map, but conditions can change between runs, including island heights and waterspouts that damage ships caught inside their zones. WoWS Gamer Blog, summarizing Update 15.10, names the four Operations as Vanished Expedition, Madness Crusade, Origin of Terror, and Harbingers of Doom, with objectives ranging from scouting and evacuation to hunting cult transports, escorting a scientific expedition, and holding the center of the map against cultist airships.

Wargaming's press release says the first four weeks introduce new Operations, followed by a random rotation with added mechanical twists. MMOHuts is more specific about the patch cadence, reporting that a new Operation unlocks each week during 15.10. WoWS Gamer Blog says the event continues across two updates, with all four Operations rotating during the first two weeks of Update 15.11. Taken together, the sources point to an event designed to be learned in stages, then scrambled after players think they know the route.

That is the horror angle that matters mechanically. The event is not relying only on theme words or a cult backdrop. The sources describe environmental hazards, changing terrain, escalating Operations, and objective-based Stars. For a co-op World of Warships PvE event, that can matter more than raw enemy count. A familiar island lane becoming less reliable, or a waterspout punishing a greedy turn, creates the kind of survival pressure that makes a PvE run feel unstable without requiring human opponents.

Rewards are tied to Stars earned by completing main and secondary objectives. MMOHuts lists permanent camouflages, three nationless Commanders with voiceovers, flags, the Shadow Blades destruction effect, Relics, module levels, and Commander talent slots among the event rewards. Wargaming's press release says Stars can also be used to customize the event rental ship, Expeditioner. The confirmed audio element is those voiced Commanders; the available source material does not describe a bespoke ambient soundscape or new horror audio system.

Expeditioner turns the event into a resource and build puzzle

The event's rental ship, Expeditioner, is the part returning players should inspect before treating Horror From the Abyss like an ordinary Operation playlist. MMOHuts reports that Expeditioner is customizable through swappable branches for main battery, auxiliary armament, hull, consumables, and shields. The same report lists event mechanics including revised missiles, high-velocity shells, shields with their own HP pool, overheating turrets, and special consumables such as Magnetic Pull.

That matters because the event appears to put progression and survivability in the same economy. Stars are earned through objectives, then feed the event track and ship customization. Wargaming says the rental ship can be adjusted for a wide variety of playstyles, but the sources do not provide a full balance table or optimal build path. Until players have the event in front of them, the safest reading is that early runs should be treated as scouting expeditions: learn which objectives consistently produce Stars, which hazards punish positioning, and which Expeditioner upgrades shore up your team's weak point.

For horror and survival-minded players, the shield and overheating details are the most interesting confirmed mechanics. A separate shield HP pool changes how incoming damage is read, while overheating turrets can turn sustained fire into a timing problem instead of a simple damage race. Magnetic Pull also suggests forced positioning or control utility, though the sources only name the consumable and do not explain its exact behavior.

The practical advice is simple: do not spend the first evening chasing every reward menu at once. Win any Horror From the Abyss Operation once, because MMOHuts reports that doing so grants the event achievement. Then settle into the weekly Operation unlocks, since later random rotation will be easier to parse if you have already seen each scenario's objectives and hazards in a more controlled rollout.

European cruisers enter Early Access with sharp tradeoffs

The second major PC addition is European cruisers early access, available from November 4 at 2:00 AM PT until January 13 at 1:00 AM PT according to MMOHuts. Wargaming's press release says the line arrives before its full Tech Tree release and spans seven ships, from the Tier IV historical Polish cruiser Dragon to the Swedish Tier X cruiser Vanadis.

MMOHuts identifies the Early Access ships as Dragon, Kralj Petar I, Tre Kronor, Hel, Kriti, Tirfing, and Vanadis. The line is described as focused on stealthy torpedo play, with long-range, high-speed torpedoes, strong concealment, above-average speed, and Emergency Engine Power. Wargaming's press release also highlights long-range, high-speed torpedoes and good main battery damage.

The caution is in the tradeoffs. MMOHuts reports that these cruisers have weak armor, limited main battery range, no radar, and no smoke. That combination points to ships that can threaten from concealment and reposition quickly, but have fewer tools for forcing vision or escaping a bad reveal. Returning players who prefer forgiving cruisers should read Early Access as a test period rather than a blind commitment.

Access is split across event systems and paid bundles. MMOHuts reports that three lower-tier ships can be earned through the Event Pass, while the remaining ships are tied to sequential Doubloon bundles and updated Europe containers. Wargaming's press release says players can unlock three low-tier ships through the Black Friday Event Pass and notes three mythology-inspired permanent camouflages. The free-to-play route, based on the provided sources, gets you part of the line early; full Early Access coverage appears to involve premium currency or containers.

The Black Friday pass is also the cruiser on-ramp

Update 15.10's Black Friday Event Pass is doing double duty. MMOHuts reports that it starts on November 4, with a free line that includes Black Friday 2026 containers and ends with Dragon and Kralj Petar I. The paid line costs 3,000 Doubloons, grants Tre Kronor immediately, and adds more containers plus Repulse B and Premium containers.

That structure is important because it makes the Black Friday pass the first practical route into the new cruiser line. The pass is not only a seasonal container track; it is the visible gateway to the lower-tier European cruisers during this Early Access window. Wargaming's press release says the Black Friday Event Pass is available until early December, while MMOHuts gives the broader cruiser Early Access period as lasting until January 13. The sources therefore point to two separate timers: the pass for initial unlocks and Black Friday rewards, and the longer Early Access period before the line's full Tech Tree arrival.

World of Warships: Legends is also part of Wargaming's November rollout, but it is a separate update. MMOBomb and Wargaming's press release say Legends players get six Black Friday ships with dedicated flags, including the Pan-American Tier VII Premium cruiser Almirante Grau B and the U.S. Legendary Tier Premium battleship Rhode Island B. Legends also receives the Cold Rain, Gray Steel campaign with 100 milestones until December 7, with a new Japanese Tier VII destroyer available through Admiralty Backing, plus a new Commander for Soviet battleships.

PC players looking specifically for World of Warships 15.10 should not confuse those Legends items with the PC event track. The overlap is seasonal branding and Wargaming's shared November marketing beat, not a single unified progression system across both games.

Returning players should check the interface before chasing rewards

For returning PC players, the first login should be less glamorous than the trailer pitch: check the new information screens, then map out the event timers. MMOHuts reports that Wargaming overhauled the pre-battle and TAB information screens in Update 15.10. WoWS Gamer Blog also lists revamped pre-battle and in-battle information screens among the patch's major changes. Since Horror From the Abyss is objective-led and the new cruisers depend heavily on concealment, torpedoes, speed, and tradeoff awareness, clearer battle information could matter immediately.

After that, prioritize Horror From the Abyss while the weekly structure is still unfolding. The event runs until December 16, and its Operations move into random rotation after the first four weeks according to Wargaming's press release. If you want the event achievement, Expeditioner upgrades, Commanders, camos, or Shadow Blades destruction effect, this is the content with the clearest expiration date.

Next, examine the Black Friday Event Pass and decide whether the free track is enough. MMOHuts says Dragon and Kralj Petar I sit at the end of the free line, while Tre Kronor is immediate on the 3,000 Doubloon paid line. That is the key spending fork for European cruiser access. The higher-tier ships are reported to be tied to sequential Doubloon bundles and updated Europe containers, so players mainly curious about the line's handling may want to sample the lower tiers before buying deeper into Early Access.

Finally, look at the secondary additions if they match your account goals. Polish submarine Orzeł arrives through Armory bundles, Salvage for Victory begins November 11 with Early Access to German super destroyer Z-57, moving storm zones have been added to the Ocean map, and Steam players get Steam Game Recording timeline markers according to MMOHuts. Those are useful changes, but they sit behind the two headline questions of this update: how much time you want to put into the abyss before December 16, and how far you want to follow European cruisers before their full Tech Tree release.
