August’s active code list has narrowed around six practical claims
The safest current Genshin Impact codes August 2026 list has settled around six redeemable codes, based on the latest updates from PCGamesN and Pocket Tactics. PCGamesN updated its guide on August 22, 2026 and said two new codes arrived for the Snezhnaya expansion drop, while Pocket Tactics’ latest list matches the same main set. For players trying to squeeze free Primogems out of Version 7.0 before planning banners, that convergence is the useful part.
The active codes those two sources agree on are BALLETCOLLAB for 30 Primogems, 10,000 Mora, three Hero’s Wit, and three Mystic Enhancement Ore; MySnezhnayaCareer for 160 Primogems, 20,000 Mora, and three Hero’s Wit; XVIZDH2B9WGX for 10,000 Mora, ten Adventurer’s Experience, five Fine Enhancement Ore, five Jueyun Chili Chicken, and five Stir-Fried Fish Noodles; 2BJ64QRZ7RT8 for 60 Primogems and five Adventurer’s Experience; LEGEDILJKSGM for 60 Primogems and five Adventurer’s Experience; and GENSHINGIFT for 50 Primogems and three Hero’s Wit.
There is a small but important caveat. Eurogamer and Rock Paper Shotgun listed EHVE2TEAFY6O and UIVI13C8X156 as active on August 20, but Pocket Tactics now places those among expired codes, and PCGamesN’s August 22 list no longer includes them. That is the kind of fast-moving code churn Genshin players know too well. Treat the six-code list above as the cleaner current target, and treat older August lists as time-sensitive snapshots rather than guarantees.
Claim the Primogem codes first, then clean up the materials
If you are redeeming in a hurry, the Primogem-bearing codes should come first. MySnezhnayaCareer is the standout because it grants 160 Primogems in one code, the largest single Primogem reward in the agreed August list. After that, 2BJ64QRZ7RT8 and LEGEDILJKSGM each add 60 Primogems, while BALLETCOLLAB contributes another 30. GENSHINGIFT is also worth trying, but the sources describe it differently: PCGamesN calls it a new-player code, Pocket Tactics says it works periodically, and MMO Culture describes it as permanent for accounts that have not used it before.
The remaining rewards are still useful if you are building characters in the Version 7.0 cycle. Mora, Hero’s Wit, Adventurer’s Experience, and enhancement materials reduce the small friction costs that pile up when leveling a party, testing a new unit, or catching up an account. XVIZDH2B9WGX does not offer Primogems in the listed rewards, but it is still a quick claim for Mora, character experience, weapon enhancement ore, and food.
Eurogamer notes that codes can expire without much warning, and MMO Culture adds that some codes can have limited redemptions, regional restrictions, or expiration dates. The practical order is simple: redeem Primogems first, redeem GENSHINGIFT if your account is eligible, then pick up the material-only code before it rotates out.
The 7.0 livestream codes are where the sources disagree
The messiest part of the August 2026 code picture is the Version 7.0 livestream set. PCGamesN’s August 22 update lists Everwinter for 100 Primogems and ten Mystic Enhancement Ore, OntoSnezhnaya for 100 Primogems and five Hero’s Wit, and Odette0812 for 100 Primogems and 50,000 Mora as Genshin Impact 7.0 livestream codes. Rock Paper Shotgun’s August 20 page also presents those three livestream codes as claimable.
Pocket Tactics, however, says the Genshin Impact 7.0 livestream codes have now expired and places Everwinter, OntoSnezhnaya, and Odette0812 in its expired section. Eurogamer gives the broader rule that livestream codes usually work for only 48 hours before they expire, which supports the idea that this set may have closed quickly even if some lists still carried it.
Because of that conflict, I would not count those 300 possible Primogems as part of the dependable August haul unless you are redeeming immediately after a livestream window opens. If the redemption page accepts them, collect them. If it rejects them, the rejection lines up with Pocket Tactics’ expired listing and Eurogamer’s 48-hour warning rather than anything being wrong with your account.
How to redeem Genshin codes on the HoYoverse web page
All cited guides agree on the key gate: your account must reach Adventure Rank 10 before code redemption is available. PCGamesN also notes that you need to have created your character. Once that is done, the web route is the cleanest method, especially if you are copy-pasting several Genshin redeem codes in one sitting.
Go to HoYoverse’s official Genshin Impact redemption page at genshin.hoyoverse.com/en/gift or the linked Genshin gift page cited by the guides. Log in with the HoYoverse account tied to the save you actually use, choose the correct server, confirm the character nickname, paste one code into the redemption field, and submit it. Pocket Tactics specifically notes that the page asks for server, character nickname, and code, while Rock Paper Shotgun says rewards arrive automatically the next time you start Genshin Impact.
After a successful redemption, claim the items through the in-game mail system. MMO Culture says a “Redemption Successful” message confirms the process on the site, then you return to the game and collect the rewards from your mailbox. If you play across multiple devices or regions, double-check the server before submitting. A code used on the wrong linked account is the kind of avoidable mistake that hurts most when free Primogems are involved.
How to redeem codes in game without using a browser
Pocket Tactics also lists an in-game redemption path. Launch Genshin Impact, open the main menu, select the cog icon to enter settings, move to the Account tab, choose the Redeem Code option, paste or type the code, then press Exchange. After that, open the in-game mailbox and claim the rewards.
The in-game method is useful on console or mobile when you do not want to juggle browser logins, but it still follows the same account rules. MMO Culture says most codes can be redeemed only once per account, and some may be restricted by region or limited availability. PCGamesN and Eurogamer both stress the limited-time nature of many rewards, so there is little benefit in saving codes for later.
If a code fails, the likely explanations are ordinary rather than dramatic: it may have expired, already been redeemed on that account, been limited to new players, or fallen under a regional restriction. GENSHINGIFT is the best example. Eurogamer warns that if it does not work, you may already have redeemed it, while Pocket Tactics says it works periodically and PCGamesN frames it as new-player-only.
Version 7.0 timing makes small rewards feel less disposable
The August code cycle is landing alongside Version 7.0 and Snezhnaya coverage across the guide sites. PCGamesN ties its new codes to the Snezhnaya expansion drop. Game8’s August 2026 page points readers toward 7.0 topics such as Snezhnaya, Cryoculus, Snezhnaya quests, Cryo Traveler, and events including To Temper Thyself 5 and Mutual Aid in Bloom. Eurogamer notes that Version 7.0 Phase 1 includes Odette’s debut and an Arlecchino rerun.
That context changes the value of even modest freebies. Primogems are the obvious priority for players weighing banners, but character experience, Mora, and enhancement ore also matter when a new region pushes players toward fresh team tests, new build paths, and quest progression. A few books will not complete a character build by themselves, but they smooth the early upgrade steps and reduce the number of errands between story, exploration, and combat prep.
For completion-minded players, the sensible routine is to redeem all six currently supported August codes now, try GENSHINGIFT if your account history allows it, and only then test any disputed livestream or older August codes. The active list may change again, but the web and in-game redemption routes are fast enough that there is no strategic upside to waiting.
