Epic is ending monthly Fortnite Crew Pack Outfits and the OG Pass on December 5, 2026, while raising Crew V-Bucks up to 1,600 for long-term subscribers.

Fortnite Crew is losing its signature monthly skin perk
Epic Games has confirmed the biggest Fortnite Crew shake-up since the subscription launched: starting December 5, 2026, Crew Pack Outfits are ending, and December’s pack will be the final one. That removes the most visible reason many players kept the subscription rolling every month, especially collectors who treated the Crew Pack as a standing appointment with an exclusive cosmetic.
The trade is direct. Epic says Crew members will receive more monthly V-Bucks instead, starting at 1,000 and rising to 1,600 for subscribers who stay in long enough. The Fortnite OG Pass is also ending on December 5, alongside what Epic calls a “dramatic conclusion” to Chapter 1: OG Season X. Epic says the “Next Era of Fortnite OG” will arrive in late 2027, but it has not announced what that new era includes or whether a future OG-style pass will return to Crew.
That leaves Fortnite Crew in a different lane. The subscription is moving away from a guaranteed monthly outfit and toward a loyalty-based currency bundle with passes attached. For players who mostly care about the Item Shop, Battle Pass progression, LEGO Fortnite, Festival, or Rocket League, the math may still work. For players who subscribed because the skin was the point, December is the end of that version of Crew.
What subscribers lose on December 5
The clear loss is the monthly Crew Pack Outfit. According to Epic’s official Fortnite blog, Crew Pack Outfits are ending, with the last one arriving in December. Epic also says all Legacy Styles for Crew Pack Outfits players already own will be granted to them, which cleans up a long-running progression hook tied to older Crew cosmetics.
That matters because the Crew Pack was the subscription’s identity. VGC notes that, before these changes, Fortnite Crew included a monthly Crew Pack with exclusive skins, 800 V-Bucks, the Battle Pass, OG Pass, LEGO Pass, Music Pass, and Rocket Pass Premium for Rocket League. Removing the outfit turns Crew from a cosmetic-first subscription into a currency-and-access package.
The second confirmed loss is the OG Pass. Epic’s post says the OG Pass ends on December 5 with the conclusion of Chapter 1: OG Season X. GamingBible and esports.gg both reported the same date and framed it as the close of the current Chapter 1 experience, but the strongest source is Epic itself: OG is not being described as gone forever, only as moving into a new phase later. The problem for subscribers is the gap. Epic says the next era drops in late 2027, so Crew members should not assume an OG Pass replacement will be part of the December 2026 value proposition unless Epic announces one.
What replaces the skins: more Fortnite Crew V-Bucks and XP
Epic is raising the monthly V-Bucks grant from 800 to at least 1,000. The new Fortnite Crew V-Bucks structure is based on subscription tenure. Core members at one to two months receive 1,000 V-Bucks per month. Bronze members at three to five months receive 1,200. Silver members at six to eleven months receive 1,400. Gold members at twelve months or longer receive 1,600.
That is a meaningful increase if you stay subscribed. Compared with the old 800 V-Bucks figure cited by Epic and VGC, Core gets 200 more per month, Bronze gets 400 more, Silver gets 600 more, and Gold gets 800 more. At the top tier, the monthly V-Bucks grant doubles from the previous amount. The catch is that the best value is locked behind continuity.
Epic says current subscribers do not need to do anything when the changes roll out. Their starting tier after December 5 will be based on how many consecutive months they have been subscribed in the past 12 months. Previously subscribed players get a short grace window: if they resubscribe between December 6 and December 31, 2026 at 11:59 PM ET, Epic says their tier will reflect their most recent continuous subscription period over the past 12 months. If they come back after that deadline, prior subscription periods will not count and they start at Core.
Crew also gains an XP perk. Epic says Crew members earn 20 percent more Fortnite XP, while squad members without Crew receive a 10 percent XP boost when playing with them. Epic’s FAQ adds that Crew XP boosts do not stack with each other, and party boosts also do not stack, so squads cannot multiply the bonus by stacking multiple Crew subscribers.
What stays in Fortnite Crew after the December 2026 changes
The subscription price is not changing in the official announcement. Epic says Fortnite Crew will remain $11.99 USD per month. VGC separately lists the current price as $11.99 / £9.99 per month and notes that Crew is also available as part of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. Epic’s December 5 post does not restate the UK price or the Xbox bundle detail, so those should be treated as current service context from VGC rather than a new December change from Epic.
The core pass bundle also remains. Epic says the Fortnite Battle Pass, Music Pass, LEGO Pass, and Rocket Pass Premium are all still included. The official pass schedule through the end of the year lists a Music Mini-Pass on November 12, then a LEGO Mini-Pass and Fortnite Battle Pass on December 5.
For regular Fortnite players, that pass continuity is the stabilizer. If you play Battle Royale or Zero Build every season, dabble in LEGO Fortnite, care about Festival rewards, or still use Rocket Pass Premium in Rocket League, Crew still packages several recurring unlock tracks under one monthly payment. The missing piece is cosmetic certainty. You will have more currency to choose what you want, but you will no longer receive a guaranteed Crew Outfit as part of the monthly drop.
The new tiers reward loyalty and punish subscription hopping
The tier system is designed to keep players subscribed. Epic says the higher V-Bucks payouts scale with consecutive membership, and the December grace period only protects recent streaks through the end of 2026. That is the pressure point. A player who holds Gold gets 1,600 V-Bucks every month. A returning player who misses the December 31 deadline starts at Core with 1,000 V-Bucks, even if they had a strong Crew history earlier.
From a competitive player’s perspective, this is clean economy design by Epic. It removes the old monthly skin as the emotional hook and replaces it with a streak system. If you are already logging in, grinding passes, and buying cosmetics from the shop, the higher V-Bucks grant is easier to justify than a skin you may never equip. Fortnite lockers are crowded. Many long-term players have dozens or hundreds of outfits, and a random monthly skin only has value if it hits your taste.
For collectors, the change cuts the other way. Crew Pack Outfits had a fixed, predictable appeal because they were part of a specific subscription lineage. V-Bucks are flexible, but they are not exclusive by themselves. If the main reason you paid every month was to own every Crew Pack skin, the December 2026 Fortnite Crew changes remove that collection path. The Legacy Styles grant softens the cutoff for outfits you already own, but it does not replace future monthly skins.
Does Fortnite Crew still make sense for regular players?
For daily or near-daily Fortnite players, Crew still makes sense if you use the included passes and spend V-Bucks with any regularity. The Battle Pass, Music Pass, LEGO Pass, and Rocket Pass Premium remain included, the monthly V-Bucks grant rises, and the XP boost helps pass progression. The higher your tier, the stronger the case becomes. Gold members getting 1,600 V-Bucks per month are receiving double the old 800 V-Bucks payout while keeping the major pass benefits Epic listed.
For casual players, the answer is less automatic. If you only subscribe for one month at the start of a season, Core gives you 1,000 V-Bucks instead of the previous 800, but you no longer get an ongoing monthly outfit after December. If you tend to cancel between seasons, the new structure gives you fewer reasons to churn in and out cleanly. Epic’s system clearly favors players who keep Crew active.
For skin-first subscribers, December is the decision point. You get the final Crew Pack Outfit, and Epic says Legacy Styles for Crew Pack Outfits you already own will be granted. After that, Crew becomes a pass, XP, and V-Bucks subscription. That may be a better deal for players who prefer choosing cosmetics from the Item Shop, but it is weaker for anyone who valued Crew’s exclusive monthly identity.
The practical move is simple: check the in-game Crew tab on December 5, as Epic says it will show your starting tier. If you previously subscribed and want your recent streak counted, the official deadline is December 31, 2026 at 11:59 PM ET. If you do not care about streak tiers, wait until the December rollout is live and judge Crew by your actual pass usage, not by the old promise of a monthly skin.
