Keen Games’ co‑op survival RPG Enshrouded finally has a 1.0 date. Here is how it is leaving Early Access, which platforms get it first, and the major features arriving with the full launch.

Enshrouded is finally stepping out of the fog. After spending years in Early Access on PC, Keen Games has locked in a full 1.0 launch for its co op survival action RPG, and it is landing in an already stacked October calendar.

When Enshrouded 1.0 launches

Keen Games has confirmed that Enshrouded will leave Early Access and launch as version 1.0 on October 15, 2026. That date applies to the PC release on Steam and the debut of the PlayStation 5 version. It marks the end of the game’s long Early Access period that began back in January 2024.

The team is framing 1.0 as the point where Enshrouded’s core vision is fully realized. After more than two years of balance passes, biome additions and progression tweaks, October is when Keen believes the survival loop, world structure and co op systems are ready for prime time.

Platform rollout plans

The 1.0 launch is not hitting every platform at once, so timing matters if you are planning where to play.

On October 15, Enshrouded 1.0 will release on PC via Steam and on PlayStation 5. This is the first time console players on PlayStation can explore Embervale, so PS5 is arriving at parity with the PC version once 1.0 lands.

Xbox Series X and Series S will have to wait longer. Keen Games and multiple press write ups note that the Xbox version is scheduled for spring 2027. The studio cites the need to polish and optimize that port so it can launch with the same scope and feature set already running on PC and PS5.

If you have been playing in Early Access on Steam, your journey continues without a platform change. Existing saves should carry forward into 1.0, with the launch update layering new content, systems and fixes on top of what is already there.

Leaving Early Access behind

Early Access has been central to how Enshrouded evolved. The initial build already blended survival crafting, action combat and co op exploration, but Keen used player feedback to sharpen nearly every part of that formula.

Across its Early Access life, the game saw new regions, dungeons and enemies, more extensive building options, expanded skill trees and smoother progression pacing. Technical performance and co op stability received frequent patches as well, helping the game hold a strong Steam rating during development.

The 1.0 launch is the milestone where Keen can move from foundational work to long term support and post launch expansions. For new players, it removes the usual Early Access caveats and makes Enshrouded far easier to recommend as a complete experience.

Key features players should expect at 1.0

The full launch is not just a version number bump. The 1.0 build is positioned as the most content rich and feature complete version of Enshrouded so far.

Players can expect a finished campaign framework that guides you across Embervale’s biomes and through the mysterious Shroud that blankets the land. The narrative about the Flameborn and the fall of the kingdom is set to be more cohesive at launch, tying world exploration and boss encounters together with clearer goals.

Survival and crafting systems are expected to be fully fleshed out. Gathering, mining and farming feed into a deep crafting tree for weapons, armor, tools and consumables. Base building remains a headline feature, with robust voxel style construction that lets you sculpt multi level fortresses, functional outposts and decorative towns using a wide variety of materials and props.

Combat should benefit from the long tuning period in Early Access. Melee and ranged weapon types, magic, armor sets and class leaning builds all plug into a flexible skill system that supports different play styles. Bosses and Shroud filled areas are designed to test those builds, with environmental hazards and enemy variety encouraging preparation rather than simple stat checks.

Co op is at the heart of Enshrouded’s design. Up to 16 players can share a world, building a common base, specializing their roles and tackling major encounters together. The 1.0 release continues to support this large scale co op focus, with server support and balance changes tuned for both solo adventuring and group play.

Technical improvements are another quiet but important part of 1.0. Performance optimization, bug fixes and quality of life changes accumulated during Early Access are all rolled into the launch build, which should make the October release the smoothest version of Enshrouded to date.

A crowded October, but a stronger Enshrouded

October 2026 is lining up as one of the year’s most crowded release windows, and Enshrouded will be vying for attention among a wave of big hitters. The upside for Keen Games is that by the time October 15 arrives, Enshrouded will have matured through years of community testing, content drops and tuning passes.

For survival and co op fans who held off during Early Access, the 1.0 launch on PC and PS5 looks like the right moment to finally step into Embervale. For existing players, it is the payoff to a long testing phase and the start of whatever comes next for Keen’s fog covered world.
